Carbon reduction and carbon credits

WABIO is a carbon negative operation, meaning every WABIO plant captures more climate impacting greenhouse gases - namely methane - than it releases greenhouse gases in the form of CO2.

Carbon prices are set to rise significantly over time. In addition to quick returns on investment driven by the high energy outputs that WABIO delivers. A WABIO power plant opens the door to creating carbon offsets, because it generates a significant volume of carbon credits.

  • WABIO has successfully tested 200 plus types of organic waste materials in its laboratories, for use as input material.

  • Tank volumes built up to giant sizes of more than 15,000 m³, and still ensure a permanent trouble-free operation, less wear & tear and smaller footprint.

  • Replacing fossil fuel power plants? The plant size is never a question. With WABIO technology we can build very small to very big intelligent plants. No limits in size.

  • 2-7 years Looking for high profits on long term basis? Very fast ROI due to high efficiency of the WABIO plant.

  • WABIO are number 1 in achieving the highest biogas yields.

  • WABIO plants are focused on protecting the environment around them

  • Using 200+ types of organic waste to convert to green energy

Performance Highlights

Applications

WABIO Biogas Plants efficiently process over 200 of waste types into alternative sustainable energy, reducing waste, reducing carbon footprints, producing high yields of biogas and highly nutritious organic fertiliser.

Some processes use boiler systems with steam generators to reduce the liquid and produce energy. However, even the latest boiler technology requires a coal or gas power plant to burn the waste in an oven-like process with metal coils powered by a furnace so they can never be fully green.

A WABIO plant produces almost double the energy of a standard boiler system with steam generator.

Not only does WABIO not require an energy input to combust the waste from total MSW, it also produce double the energy output compared to combustion.

With the WABIO process, patented bacteria develop in the liquid with no additional discharge of residual waste. All is treated within the WABIO process technology.

MUNICIPAL SOLID WASTE (MSW) SOLUTIONS

Trash is a challenge for every city. WABIO turns city waste that would normally be combusted releasing harmful gases in the air, into large amounts of renewable green energy.

With our network of reputed thermal waste treatment plants, WABIO turns organic Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) into energy, delivering twice as much green energy as conventional refuse-derived fuel (RDF) plants. The organic fraction of MSW is efficiently digested into biogas, while residual non-organic and non-recyclable waste may not even incur a disposal fee. We not only take care of your city’s waste challenge, we make MSW profitable for you.

The organic fraction of MSW (Municipal Solid Waste) generally carries up to 80% water component that requires large amounts of energy to combust waste with standard techniques. This means a high amount of energy is needed to eliminate the water before the remaining 20% of solid waste can finally begin to generate energy.

AGRICULTURE AND LIVESTOCK WASTE SOLUTIONS

With our mono-fermentation and co-fermentation techniques, we transform all types of agricultural waste into green energy. Waste products - from livestock manure to straw - can be processed highly effectively into biogas by WABIO technology and complex waste -processing knowledge.

WABIO can process wood waste, livestock and poultry manure, chicken litter - including bedding material like straw, wood chips or sawdust - dry rice, corn and any other straw type, as well as any husk (rice, wheat, soy) or shells (coffee, peanut, cotton, cocoa, etc.) or bagasse (sugarcane pulp), just to name a few examples.

SEWAGE SLUDGE TREATMENT

WABIO treatment solutions convert sewage sludge into substantial amounts of biogas. Mainstream sewage treatment involves a lengthy and expensive drying process followed by combustion or landfill.

Working with us turns an expensive disposal problem into an additional income stream. By supplying green energy to the grid, our clients reduce their carbon footprint and increase the public supply of clean fuel.

FOOD PROCESSING WASTE, MEAT AND FISH

Your food production plant can generate its own energy using only its waste. Organic waste from food production in the meat and fish industry can be digested highly effectively by WABIO AD (Anaerobic Digestion) systems.

WABIO’s expertise on the balance between ammonia and nitrogen maximises the biogas production rate with mono-fermentation techniques.

FOOD PROCESSING WASTE, BREWERIES AND DISTILLERIES

The spent grain (thick slop) from beer production or high-grade alcohol distillation is the ideal input feedstock for the WABIO AD (anaerobic digestion) system.

WABIO converts this waste into high yields of biogas and highly nutritious organic fertiliser as a byproduct of the fermentation. Producers can reduce their carbon footprint and increase their value chain by adding multiple secondary income sources.
